Not counting the performance-oriented SQ5, the 2017 Q5 comes with three trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. The Premium starts out with features like xenon plus headlights, leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, and 40/20/40 split rear seats that can move forward and backward and even recline. Premium Plus adds heated front seats, driver seat memory, and Audi's keyless start, stop, and entry system. The Prestige trim adds features such as a Bang and Olufsen 14-speaker system, adaptive cruise control, and adaptive headlights, which can change how they shine depending on where you're driving.
Engine (Power)
The 2017 Audi Q5 comes with one of two engines. The first is a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 engine that provides 220 horsepower and 258 lbs-ft of torque. This comes with an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and Audi's permanent quattro all-wheel drive, and while the Q5 needs 7.0 seconds to go from 0 to 60, it offers a competitive 22 combined miles per gallon. The larger 3.0-liter engine is supercharged and delivers 272 horsepower and 295 lbs-ft of torque. This engine drops a full second off the 0-60 acceleration, managing it in just 6.0 seconds, while still boasting 21 combined mpg.
Performance
Audi has an edge when it comes to other all-wheel drive luxury SUVs, thanks to the permanent AWD in the quattro. Audi also gives you the ability to change how you experience the 2017 Q5's handling thanks to Audi drive select, which can adjust how the steering and the transmission feel.
Interior
The 2017 Audi Q5 offers 29.1 cubic feet behind the rear seats and a total of 57.3 cubic feet behind the front row, which is better than what you usually see in the Q5's class. As for the passengers, they get to experience some generous leg room in the back row. The back row also gets its own temperature zone thanks to standard three-zone automatic climate control, and the front row can play with the available MMI navigation system and Wi-Fi spot thanks to a six-month trial subscription with Audi connect.
Safety Features
There's no need to worry about safety when it comes to the 2017 Q5. The vehicle comes equipped with all the standard air bags, as well as a special electronic stability control that also has Off-Road Mode and Traction Control. The Q5 also comes with several driver assistance systems. These include Audi Side Assist, which warns you when a car is approaching or in your blind spot, and Audi Adaptive Cruise Control, which lets the Q5 speed up or slow down to match the traffic around it.
