For the 2017 model year, the S5 comes in two body styles: the coupe and cabriolet. However, there's only a sole trim level for each of these options. Thus, the only decision you'll have to make is whether you want a convertible or a hardtop. Both models of the S5 come equipped with the iconic Audi Singleframe grille, xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED taillights with rear fog lights, front fog lights, heated side mirrors, aluminum trim, and quad exhaust.

The coupe offers three wheel choices, and the cabriolet gives you two choices.

Engine (Power)
The S5 coupe and cabriolet each come with the same engine, but that's not necessarily a detriment to the car. Under the hood, the S5 boasts a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 capable of 333 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. With this behemoth, the coupe goes from zero to 60 in just 4.9 seconds while topping out at 155 mph. The cabriolet also tops out at 155 mph, and it still has a remarkable zero-to-60 clip of 5.3 seconds.
Performance

The Audi S5 is the epitome of performance when you really explore all of its mechanical components. The coupe comes with standard quattro all-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission, while the cabriolet sports a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission. This same seven-speed transmission is available as an option on the coupe.

With the manual transmission, the S5 coupe gets up to 26 miles per gallon (mpg) on the highway, 17 mpg in the city, and 20 mpg combined. The automatic version gets up to 26 mpg on the highway, 18 mpg in the city, and 21 mpg combined. Both versions of the S5 also come with a sports-tuned suspension that makes cornering and straightaways equally as easy to maneuver.

Interior

With the S5, drivers will get an array of upscale amenities. The coupe comes with numerous standard interior features such as three-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, brushed aluminum inlays, three 12-volt power outlets, ambient LED lighting, and heated leather seats. With the cabriolet, you'll also get a leather-wrapped shift knob.

The 2017 S5 has a plethora of high-tech interior specs. These include a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, SiriusXM radio, a 32-gigabyte SD card slot, and Bluetooth. The Technology Package on both models adds a DVD player, Audi connect, navigation, a rearview camera, and HD radio.

Safety Features
This year's S5 comes with a number of superb safety features on both the coupe and the cabriolet. Passive safety specs include front, knee, and head curtain air bags, anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Adding the Technology Package gives the S5 Audi side assist, which functions as a blindspot monitor.
