The 2017 Range Rover comes in five exciting trim levels, although you'll first have to select either a wide wheelbase or a regular wheelbase. The trim levels include the base model, HSE, Supercharged, Autobiography, and SVAutobiography Dynamic. Despite a sizable difference in price from base model to fully loaded, the entry-level still offers excellent exterior amenities, such as 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, automatic Xenon headlights with LED accents, LED tail lamps and turn signals, power heated outside mirrors, and a dark atlas grille.

The HSE tacks on 20-inch alloy wheels, a sliding panoramic roof, and a dual-colored grille, while the Supercharged adds front fog lights, 21-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, and Supercharged exterior badging. If you want extra opulence, the Autobiography provides adaptive Xenon headlamps with high beam assist and exclusive exterior trim. To round out the trim levels, the SVAutobiography has chrome accents, 21-inch dark gray wheels, and unique graphics throughout the exterior.

Engine (Power)

Under the hood, the Range Rover comes with three available engines depending on the trim level. The base model and the HSE have either a 3.0-liter, turbocharged diesel V6 or a 3.0-liter, supercharged V6. With the diesel option, the Range Rover gets 254 horsepower and up to 443 pound-feet of torque, while the gasoline-powered V6 offers a whopping 380 horsepower and up to 332 pound-feet of torque.

If you want a bit more power, the next two trim levels all come with a gargantuan 5.0-liter V8 engine that gives the Range Rover amazing 510 horsepower and 461 pound-feet of torque, while the SVAutobiography hs a 550-horsepower V8.

All trim levels come with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, and a towing capacity of up to 7,700 pounds.

Performance

Despite its massive engine sizes, the Range Rover still gets above-average fuel economy. With the turbodiesel V6, the Range Rover gets 29 miles per gallon (mpg) on the highway and 22 mpg in the city. The supercharged V6 gets 23 mpg on the highway and 17 mpg in the city. With the monster V-8, the Range Rover still affords 19 mpg on the highway and 13 mpg in the city.

Interior

Inside, the Range Rover comes loaded with extras as well as a spacious cabin. It seats up to five passengers comfortably while also offering cargo space ranging from 32 cubic feet to 82 cubic feet, depending on the configuration.

Other features include leather-trimmed seating, heated front and rear seats, a 29-speaker premium audio system, and a rear 8-inch DVD entertainment system.

Safety Features

Although the Range Rover has yet to undergo safety evaluations for 2017, it comes loaded with some great features. These safety amenities include lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, and roll stability control.
