The 2017 Range Rover Sport comes in six trim levels: the SE, HSE, HSE Dynamic, Supercharged, Autobiography, and SVR. With the base level SE, drivers will love standard exterior amenities such as 19-inch alloy wheels, heated adjustable side mirrors, automatic bi-Xenon headlights with LED signature accents, dark atlas trim, and dual chrome-tipped exhaust. The HSE adds 20-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps, unique badging, a panoramic moonroof, and LED taillamps, while the HSE Dynamic boasts 21-inch wheels.

The Supercharged sports the same amenities as the HSE, but with unique wheels, while the Autobiography gets body-colored molding, diamond-turned 21-inch alloy wheels, auto dimming side mirrors, and adaptive headlamps with automatic high-beam assist. The fully loaded SVR rounds out the Range Rover Sport lineup with blue painted brake calipers, a heated windshield, roof spoiler, unique badging, and gloss black exterior trim.

Engine (Power)

The 2017 Range Rover Sport has three engine options; two are fine-tuned for more power depending on the trim level. The SE and HSE come with two engine choices including a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel V-6 and a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6. The diesel version boasts 254 horsepower and up to 443 pound-feet of torque, while the gasoline-powered alternative has 340 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque.

The HSE Dynamic gets a 380-horsepower, supercharged V-6. The Supercharged and Autobiography trim levels up the ante with a 5.0-liter V-8 that's good for 510 horsepower and 461 pound-feet of torque, and the SVR rounds out the lineup with a 550-horsepower V-8 with 502 pound-feet of torque.

Performance

Even with its massive engines, the Range Rover Sport is still surprisingly efficient. The turbodiesel gets up to 25 miles per gallon (mpg) combined, while the supercharged V-6 gets 19 mpg combined. The supercharged V-8 edition on the Autobiography and Supercharged get 16 mpg combined, while the SVR gets 15 mpg.

Interior

Though the Range Rover Sport might not have the same interior decadence as the full-size Range Rover, it still has plenty of features that make it a winner. It has third-row seating that accommodates up to seven passengers, or you can fold everything down to reveal a whopping 62.2 cubic feet of cargo space.

Other features of the 2017 Range Rover Sport include leather-trimmed seats, heated seats, a 10.2-inch touch screen, an eight-speaker audio system, push-button ignition, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.

Safety Features

The 2017 Range Rover Sport has yet to undergo crash test ratings, but it still has a number of excellent safety features. These include air bags throughout the cabin, an active speed limiter, lane departure warning, and autonomous emergency braking.
