Trims (Exterior)
For all three designs, the 2018 A5 has three trim levels to offer. The first is the Premium, which has a 7-inch infotainment display with a rearview camera and 18-inch wheels. It also comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Next is the Premium Plus, which adds full LED headlights, a keyless system that lets you start the car and open the trunk without pulling out your key fob, and heated front seats with a driver seat memory system. Finally, the Prestige trim offers a virtual cockpit with a head-up display, a Bang and Olufsen sound system with 19 speakers, and six months of Audi Connect PRIME and PLUS.
Engine (Power)
The 2018 Audi A5 comes standard with a 2.0-liter I4 engine that puts out 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque thanks to its turbocharged design. On the cabriolet and sportback, this comes connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with S-tronic technology, and you can take manual control over the shifting thanks to the standard shift paddles. As for the coupe, it comes with an old-school manual transmission with six gears.
Performance
If you want the best performance an Audi small car can deliver, you should take a look at the S5 models' features. Still, the 2018 A5 models have plenty to offer, like a top speed of 130 mph and a 0-60 time of 5.7 seconds for the coupe and sportback and 6.0 seconds for the cabriolet. Every Audi A5 also comes with Quattro all-wheel drive with Ultra technology, Audi Drive Select with four driving modes to choose from, and a lightweight frame that combines several materials to keep the body stiff even as it lightens the load.
Interior
The amount of interior space you get depends on which version of the 2018 Audi A5 you buy. The sportback has the most space for passengers and cargo, with 35.1 inches of legroom in the rear and 21.8 cubic feet to spare in the trunk. The coupe can fit 11.6 cubic feet in its trunk, and the cabriolet has 9.3 cubic feet due to needing space for the folding roof. As a luxury vehicle, the A5 also has plenty of conveniences for passengers, including three-zone automatic climate control, 40/20/40 split rear seats, and a panoramic sunroof on hardtop models.
Safety
The 2018 A5 covers safety with eight air bags (minus the curtain bags on the cabriolet), LATCH anchors for child seats, and electronic stability control. You also get Audi Pre Sense Basic and Pre Sense City. The first adjusts the brakes and seat belts during an emergency, and the second can detect possible collisions with cars or pedestrians and can automatically brake up to 25 mph.
