Trims (Exterior)
The 2018 S4 skips the entry-level Premium to offer the Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels. That means you get all the luxury features you can find on the A4 Premium Plus along with S4 extras like a unique exterior design package, 12-way adjustable sport seats with bolstered sides, and a larger V6 engine. The Prestige adds even more on top of that, like the Audi virtual cockpit with head-up display, the MMI Navigation Plus infotainment system, and a complimentary six months of Audi Connect PRIME and PLUS.
Engine (Power)
While the 2018 Audi A4 gets by with a four-cylinder engine, the S4 gets a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that delivers 354 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. You control this engine with an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, and thanks to a pair of paddle shifters behind the steering wheel, you can change gears manually at any time. Something else that comes standard on every S4 is the Quattro all-wheel drive, which automatically shifts from front-wheel drive to four wheels when it detects the need for extra traction. The S4 also gets 30 highway mpg.
Performance
Thanks to the turbo V6, the 2018 S4 can reach 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph. Aside from its powerful engine and all-wheel drive, the 2018 S4 also gives drivers great stopping power thanks to 13.8-inch ventilated discs in the front and 13.1-inch ventilated discs in the rear. You also get an adaptive damping suspension that changes the way it reacts based on which of the four drive modes you switch to. Depending on the setting, you can expect comfort, responsiveness, or a mix between the two. The S4 also uses lightweight materials in the frame for greater efficiency and improved handling.
Interior
The compact design of the 2018 Audi S4 means the trunk holds 13.0 cubic feet, but the rear seats get 35.7 inches of legroom. Passengers in both the front and back rows get plenty of features to enjoy too, like a standard sunroof, three-zone automatic climate control, an LED interior lighting package, an audio system by Bang and Olufsen with 19 speakers and 3-D sound, and a smartphone interface system with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Safety Features
The 2018 S4 gives you eight air bags, electronic brake-pressure distribution, electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes, and more. You can also pick up several available and standard driver assistance features like Audi side assist for blind spot warnings, Pre Sense City for forward collision warnings and automatic braking, active lane assist, traffic jam assist, parking system plus, collision avoidance assist, and turn assist.
