Trim Levels (Exterior)
<p>The 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC is available in two main trim levels, which are GLC 300 and AMG® GLC 43. A coupe version of the GLC is also available, which has a sleeker roofline and sporty styling elements. Exterior equipment on the GLC 300 includes LED daytime running lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, adaptive suspension damping, automatic headlights, power-folding side mirrors, roof rails, automatic windshield wipers, and a power-operated liftgate. The Premium 3 package comes with adaptive LED headlights and automatic high beams. With the Sport package, you'll get upgraded body styling, nicer brakes, and 19-inch wheels.</p> <p>Other optional upgrades include a panoramic sunroof, a roof spoiler, 20-inch wheels, an illuminated grille star, and adaptive air suspension. Standard features of the AMG® GLC 43 are the 20-inch wheels, a sport-tuned air suspension, and unique exterior style elements.</p>
Engine (Power)
The powerful engine within the base model is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that cranks out 273 pound-feet of torque and 241 horsepower. It pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The performance-based AMG® GLC 43 contains a 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 engine that pumps out 384 pound-feet of torque and 362 horsepower. This engine works with the same nine-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
The 2018 GLC base trim is available in a 4MATIC® sub-trim, which adds Mercedes-Benz version of all-wheel drive. The standard configuration on the base model is rear-wheel drive. If you opt for the AMG® GLC 43, your vehicle will come standard with 4MATIC®. EPA estimates for the GLC 300 trim come in at 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, or 24 mpg combined. The 4MATIC® version drops the city estimate by 1 mpg. With the V-6 engine, estimates come in at 18 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined.
Interior
<p>Within the cabin of the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC base model, you'll find high-end features like adjustable drive settings, dual-zone automatic climate control, MB-Tex upholstery, an infotainment display screen, a universal garage door opener, Bluetooth® connectivity, and an eight-speaker sound system with two USB ports and HD radio. Options are available in packages, such as a larger display screen, navigation, real-time weather and traffic information, a household-style power outlet, and a cargo net.</p> <p>Standalone options include a 14-speaker premium surround-sound audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, a head-up display, leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, internet streaming radio, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The top trim level boasts interior design flourishes, satellite radio, and the household power outlet.</p>
Safety Features
Every trim level of the GLC comes with anti-lock brakes; full-length side curtain, front-seat side, and driver-knee air bags; crosswind assistance; forward collision warning with intervention and automatic braking; drowsy driver warning; and trailer sway control. Within the package options, you can add features like lane departure warning and intervention, forward cross-traffic collision detection and intervention, blind spot warning and intervention, and upgraded forward collision alert with pedestrian detection.
