Trim Levels
Each 2018 NV van comes with its own set of trim levels. The NV200 has S and SV trims, with the SV adding cruise control, a keyless entry, and six floor-mounted D-rings. There's also the NV200 Taxi, a model with a navigation system, five seats, and a panoramic roof. The NV Cargo van comes in 1500, 2500, and 3500 styles, with S and SV available for the 1500 and an SL trim that comes with the 2500 and 3500. The last two trims can also come with a high roof for extra cargo space. The NV Passenger is 3500 exclusively, and so it has the S, SV, and SL trims and the normal roof only.
Engine
Every 2018 NV200 runs on the same engine: a 2.0-liter I-4 that generates 131 horsepower and 139 pound-feet of torque. The compact van also comes with Nissan's Xtronic CVT, giving it an exceptional 24 city and 26 highway mpg. The regular NV gets one of two engines depending on the trim and size. The first is a 4.0-liter V-6 that delivers 261 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque, and the second is a 5.6-liter V-8 that manages up to 375 horsepower and 387 pound-feet of torque. The V-6 comes with a five-speed automatic transmission, while the V-8 has a more advanced seven-speed.
Performance
The performance of the 2018 NV van series depends on which one you look at. The NV200 has a payload limit of 1,480 pounds, and while the NV200 Taxi can't carry as much, it can hold three extra passengers. The NV1500 has a max payload of 2,730 pounds, and that goes up to 3,280 pounds for the 2500 and 3,850 pounds for the 3500. Also, the V-6 engine can tow up to 6,900 pounds while the V-8 can manage 9,400 pounds. Finally, the roof load for the regular roof is 500 pounds while the tall roof can carry 300 pounds.
Interior
The total cargo volume of the compact 2018 NV200 is 122.7 cubic feet. The NV200 Taxi has less room for cargo, but it has five passenger seats. The NV Cargo has room for 234.1 cubic feet of cargo with the normal roof no matter which version you buy, and that goes up to 323.1 cubic feet with the tall roof. As for the NV Passenger, it offers 324 possible seat configurations with 12 seats you can move or remove depending on the job.
Safety Features
Every 2018 NV van of every size, style, and trim comes with basic safety features like air bags, the Vehicle Dynamic Control with Traction Control System, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The NV Passenger also comes with LATCH tethers for child safety seats.
