2019 Toyota C-HR
Fresh off its exciting debut a year ago, the 2019 Toyota C-HR is still at the top of its game. This year, the compact crossover adds even more features to its lineup including the addition of the entry-level LE trim. This provides a more affordable starting price without skimping on any of the amenities that make the C-HR stand out from its competitors. Here's a look at everything the C-HR has to offer in 2019.
Trim Levels
Toyota offers the 2019 C-HR in three trim levels: the all-new LE, XLE, and Limited. Even at the entry level, the LE still boasts a number of standard exterior features including all-season tires, an aerodynamic diffuser, rear spoiler, automatic projector-beam halogen headlamps, automatic LED daytime running lights, a shark-fin antenna, 17-inch steel wheels, heated power outside mirrors with integrated turn signals, and a rear-window wiper. The XLE ups the ante with C-HR projection puddle lights, auto-folding side mirrors, a touch-sensor hatchback door, and 18-inch Sport alloy wheels. To round out the lineup, the fully loaded Limited edition provides high-performance LED fog lights, a piano-black B-pillar, chrome window trim accents, a red rear bumper garnish, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Choose from five two-tone paint options or seven single-tone colors such as Magnetic Gray, Blue Flame, Blizzard, Black Sand, Blue Eclipse, Ruby Flare, and Silver Knockout.
Engine
The 2019 Toyota C-HR comes with a single engine option, boasting a nice blend of power and efficiency. Beneath the hood, the C-HR gets a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that kicks out 144 horsepower and up to 139 pound-feet of torque. This allows it to kick up some dust, going from 0-60 in 11 seconds with a top speed of 115 mph. This engine pairs with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) to power the front wheels.
Performance
If you put a premium on fuel economy, the C-HR won't disappoint. Thanks to its low engine displacement and efficient powertrain, each trim of the crossover gets up to 31 mpg on the highway, 27 mpg in the city, and 29 mpg combined. The 2019 C-HR is not equipped for towing.
Interior
Whether you're an adventurer or a parent, the C-HR has plenty of space for your kids, sporting goods, groceries, and more. The vehicle comfortably accommodates up to five passengers while still offering 19 cubic feet of space behind the rear seat. If you need more room, fold the rear seat down to unveil an impressive 36.4 cubic feet of storage volume. The interior of the C-HR also has plenty of standard and available tech, comfort, and convenience features. Some of the standouts include leather seating, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, Apple CarPlay, the Entune 3.0 infotainment system with 8-inch touch-screen display, and a push-button start.
Safety Features
The 2019 Toyota C-HR earns a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration thanks to the standard Toyota Safety Sense P suite. This driver-assist safety system provides several amenities designed to mitigate accidents. Highlights include full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and automatic high beams.
