2019 Volkswagen Golf
The Golf is a Volkswagen classic, with its hatchback design and sporty look. Offering a combo of both style and performance. The 2019 model including a thoughtfully designed cargo area; sleek LED taillights and LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), and a more fuel efficient engine here are all the details about the 2019 Volkswagen Golf.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2019 four-door Golf hatchback comes in two trim levels, so buyers can choose between the S and the SE. The base level S comes with 15-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and automatic halogen headlights. It also has power heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and power front disc brakes. The SE adds 16" split-V alloy wheels, a power tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof, and heated windshield wiper nozzles.
Engine (Power)
Both models get the same 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 147 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission comes standard, and both are front-wheel drive.
Performance
The 1.4-liter provides plenty of power for this small hatchback. The quick acceleration gives the driver plenty of confidence for passing on the highway, which the Golf does with complete ease. The manual transmission shifts smoothly through the gears, and the automatic is also smooth especially at highway speeds. If you want to head out on curvy back roads, the precise steering provides a natural feel when heading around the corners. Fuel economy is also good with an EPA rating of 29 miles per gallon in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.
Interior
Inside the cabin, the S has cloth seats, but a bump up to the SE will get you V-Tex leatherette surfaces along with heated front seats. Bluetooth comes standard in both trims and both models have a USB port. The S features a 6.5-inch color touch screen display, and the SE bumps up the technology by adding an 8-inch color display and satellite radio. No matter which trim you choose, you'll get smartphone integration and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In the back, there is an adjustable cargo floor for extra storage space, and you'll get 22.8 cubic inches of cargo space with the rear seats up. If you fold the seats down, it opens up to over 52 cubic feet, and the rear seats also have a 60/40 split so you can make room for both passengers and cargo.
Safety Features
The NHTSA awarded the Golf a 5-start overall all safety rating .Both the models come standard with a rearview camera, an Intelligent Crash Response System, and a rigid safety cage.
