2020 Ford Escape
The 2020 Ford Escape is dynamic, exciting, and fun to drive. It has a sleek, modern style, and it's ideal for a comfortable commute or a weekend adventure. Here are some interesting details about the 2020 Escape's best features.
Trim Levels
This SUV has an interesting sculpted look, and the front looks more like a sedan. The large, angular black grille has a small Ford Blue Oval above it, and the recessed fog lights make attractive horizontal indentations around the grille. Five trim levels are available: S, SE, SE Sport, SEL, and Titanium. The 2020 Escape comes with 17-inch wheels, but 18-inch and 19-inch options are available. A rear spoiler, side mirrors with blind spot mirrors included, and a rear windshield wiper are standard as well. Other options include chrome dual-exhaust, rain-sensing wipers, panoramic sunroof, roof rails, and a power liftgate.
Engine
You can choose from four engine options. The turbocharged, 1.5-liter, three-cylinder EcoBoost engine makes 180 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, and the 2.5-liter, four-cylinder hybrid produces 198 horsepower and 153 pound-feet of torque. A plug-in hybrid 2.5-liter engine that generates 209 horsepower is also available, or you can select a 2.0-liter, turbocharged EcoBoost engine that offers 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
The 2020 Escape provides an excellent ride with smooth, powerful acceleration and lots of maneuverability. It comes with front-wheel drive, and four-wheel drive is optional. The vehicles with hybrid engines have continuously variable automatic transmissions or CVTs, and the EcoBoost motors use eight-speed automatic transmissions. With the towing package, the Escape can pull up to 3,500 pounds. The 1.5-liter EcoBoost has the best fuel economy, and it gets 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. An EcoBoost engine also lets you switch between Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow/Sand, and Slippery driving modes.
Interior
This SUV has an advanced, luxurious interior. It seats five people comfortably, and it has sliding and folding second-row seats for better cargo capacity. It comes with a Wi-Fi hot spot, a compass, an external temperature display, six cupholders, and a rotary gear shift dial. You can add heated power leather seats, remote start, a heated steering wheel, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Dual-zone climate control, a universal garage door opener, a head-up display, and a 10-speaker, 575-watt Bang and Olufson premium sound system with a subwoofer are also available. Other options include keyless entry, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
Safety Features
The advanced safety features of the 2020 Ford Escape will put your mind at ease. It has pre-collision assistance with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The dual-stage driver and front passenger air bags can adjust the rate they deploy depending on the speed of an impact. The Escape includes stability control, trailer sway control, an anti-theft system, and a post-crash alert system as well. You can also add active parking assistance for perpendicular and parallel parking.
