Trim Levels (Exterior)
Three trim levels are available for the 2020 Lincoln MKZ, the base model, the Reserve I, and the Reserve II. Starting with the base option, you'll enjoy some not-so-basic exterior perks like adaptive xenon HID (high-intensity discharge) headlights with signature LED lighting, 18-inch wheels, and a dual integrated chrome exhaust with bright tips. Upgrade to the Reserve I for heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals and security approach lights that automatically illuminate as you approach the vehicle. Finally, the Reserve II trim gets all the perks including larger 19-inch wheels and a sunroof.
Engine (Power)
Along with three trim options, there are also three different powertrain options. The standard engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. This engine pumps out up to 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. For more power, opt for the available 3.0-liter V-6 engine that offers 350 horsepower with front-wheel drive and 400 horsepower with all-wheel-drive. A hybrid engine is also available for added fuel efficiency. Combining a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor offers a combined system 188 horsepower with front-wheel drive.
Performance
Depending on the type of drive you're planning to enjoy, you can choose between three drive modes: normal, sport, and comfort. Sport mode provides a strong kick and more responsive acceleration for some thrills during the drive home from work. Using an adaptive suspension, the MKZ provides a smooth ride even over rough driving surfaces. To help prevent oversteering, an electronic power-steering system allows for easier steering at low speeds and a tighter handle at higher speeds. Lincoln's Dynamic Torque Vectoring makes sure that the MKZ provides precise and controlled movements no matter what kind of road it encounters. Torque can be increased or decreased from specific wheels in order to give power to the wheels with the best grip. This gives the MKZ a strong hold on the road.
Interior
The SYNC 3 infotainment system comes standard with all 2020 MKZ models and features an 8-inch touch screen with easy smartphone integration and a sound system with 11 speakers situation throughout the cabin. Features like automatic climate control and power-adjustable seats with heating elements make this a vehicle you won't want to leave. Upgrade to the Reserve I model for leather seating, wood trimming, ambient lighting, integrated navigation, and USB charging ports in the rear.
Safety Features
Lincoln offers a suite of active safety features in their Co-Pilot360 package. This includes systems like forward collision warning, lane-keeping assistance, automatic high beams, and automatic emergency braking. Adaptive headlights turn with your vehicle to help keep the road ahead illuminated, even around corners. Rear cross-traffic alert will warn the driver if the system detects an oncoming vehicle from behind while the car is in reverse.
