2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG® GT
If you're in the market for an exotic sports coupe that offers stunning performance, then the 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG® GT should be at the top of your wish list. Both the exterior and interior design have been refreshed, which doesn't detract from its evocative style. The long hood and seductive profile of the AMG® GT give the impression of motion, even when stationary.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The AMG® GT is offered in GT and GT C trim levels, along with the soon-to-be released GT R Pro . The GT has a distinctive grille with chrome bars that takes a cue from Mercedes sports cars of the 1950s. Every panel is optimized to improve air flow, and features include front apron air intakes and an active rear spoiler.
Also standard are LED auto-leveling headlights, daytime running lights, cornering lights, 19-inch alloy wheels, color-keyed door handles, and auto-dimming heated power mirrors with turn signals. The GT C adds directionally adaptive headlights and chrome door handles, while the GT R Pro has unique styling cues and carbon fiber trim.
Engine (Power)
All models feature the same engine but with different power outputs. In the GT, the 4.0-liter V-8 bi-turbo engine delivers 469 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. For the GT C, the power is uprated to 550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque.
The power boost for the GT R Pro gives you 577 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Power is transferred to the rear wheels by the seven-speed AMG® Speedshift dual clutch rear-mounted transmission with paddle shifters.
Performance
Featuring lightweight, high-strength construction, the body of the AMG® GT is 97% aluminum and weighs in at just 514 pounds. The GT can accelerate you from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 189 mph. The GT C takes just 3.6 seconds to hit 60 mph and tops out at 196 mph. The GT R Pro gets to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds on its way to a top speed of 198 mph.
Interior
Inside, the GT is very driver-focused and has heated 10-way power adjustable AMG® performance seats that hold you in place, even under extreme cornering. They have microsuede inserts and a memory function.
Interior features include a race-inspired steering wheel, configurable digital instrumentation, dual-zone climate control, and silver chrome trim. The GT C has ventilated seats and illuminated door sills.
The multimedia system offers a rotary touchpad central controller, 10.2-inch central display with integrated navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay® integration, voice control, Bluetooth, dual USB inputs, an SD card reader, and a four-speaker audio system with HD and satellite radio. The GT C adds a 10-speaker Burmester surround sound system.
Safety Features
Standard safety features include an electronic stability program, traction control, four-wheel ABS with front and rear ventilated disc brakes, adaptive braking technology, active brake assist, attention assist, front and rear parking sensors, front and rear cameras, and automatic high-beams. The GT C offers blind-spot assist, and lane-keep assist. In addition, you can opt for adaptive cruise control with stop and go.
