Trim Levels (Exterior)
There are two configurations for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class 300 series: the 350 sedan and 350 4MATIC® sedan. Both trims feature a head-turning exterior look with a ribbed hood, bullet-like silhouette, and striking grille design that features a bold Mercedes-Benz logo. Both models feature 18-inch wheels with twin five-spoke rims and LED exterior lights.
Engine (Power)
Both trims feature the same engine. On this year's release, it's a 255 horsepower turbo engine with a torque rating of 273 pound-feet when operating between 1,800 and 4,000 rpm.
Performance
Despite sharing the same engine, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz E Class 350 and 350 4MATIC® feature slight performance differences. The biggest difference is that the 4MATIC® version operates with all-wheel drive and the standard version features rear-wheel drive. Because of the different power requirements for each drivetrain, the 350 4MATIC® has a negligibly lower fuel economy estimate and a slightly slower zero to 60 time. Both trims in the 300 series lineup feature a nine-speed automatic transmission. The gas tank holds more than 17 gallons, which is more comparable to an SUV tank, giving the sedans the ability to travel longer distances between fill-ups. The 350 and 350 4MATIC® also share the same suspension system. The front features a four-link suspension, and the rear features a five-arm multilink suspension. All four wheels are independent in the suspensions system, which allows for greater response and grip on the road.
Interior
The interior of the 2021 Mercedes-Benz 300 series features tip-to-tail comfort and luxury. There's plenty of legroom to go around, with just under 42 inches for the driver and front passenger and just over 36 inches for rear passengers. Each model has room for up to five passengers, including the driver. A digital information cluster and center console give the cabin a modern and sleek look. The onboard ambient lighting has 64 different color modes. Both models are equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, so you always have access to your favorite entertainment services. The steering wheel received some updates for this release. It now features a more modern look, multiple touch control points, and galvanized steel paddles.
Safety Features
It's no surprise that the E-Class 300 series is leading the way when it comes to comfort and luxury, but it also features an impressive lineup of safety features. An active braking assistance feature can help you stop faster if the system detects an imminent collision, which can mitigate damage or stop a collision altogether. In addition to emergency assistance features, a parking assistant makes fitting the E-Class into tight or complicated spaces a breeze.
