Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2022 Porsche Macan's build screams athletic, especially compared to other vehicles in its class. The base model is robust and quick, but the S model's noticeable jump in performance is due to its larger V-6 engine. Standard features in all models include LED headlights, a 10.9-inch touch-screen infotainment system, and a 10-speaker audio system. If you opt for the Premium Package, you'll get adaptive headlights and four extra speakers. The Sport Chrono pack grabs attention with its launch control system and driver-adjustable driving mode.
Engine (Power)
The 2022 Porsche Macan features your choice of three engines. When you study the base model, you'll find a small but rugged 2.0-liter, 261-horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine. The Porsche Macan S carries a much larger 2.9-liter, 375-horsepower twin-turbo V-6 engine. The GTS, the Macan's top model, maxes out the horsepower with a 2.9-liter, 434-horsepower twin-turbo V-6 engine with a seven-speed PDK automatic transmission.
Performance
The 2022 Porsche Macan can reach 60 mph from a dead stop in only 3.5 seconds. That's remarkably faster than many of the top vehicles in its class, such as the Audi SQ5 or Jaguar F-Pace S. You probably won't need your SUV to shoot off the line like the Macan. However, this boost of performance power surely won't hurt. Speed is essential if you're looking for a crossover to bring to the race track, but the Macan's most impressive feature is its overall proficiency on city streets. It drives like a sports sedan. The driving experience is silky-smooth, and the steering is reactive and controlled. The suspension system stops any bumps and dips from making their way to the passengers. Due to its wider frame, the Porsche Macan uses a slightly lighter steering system than Porsche uses in their sports car, but it feels just as accurate and tactile given the Macan's larger stature.
Interior
The Macan's interior is a bit toned down compared to a typical Porsche sedan or sports car. You may not want to pick up the kids for soccer practice with a decked-out sports car interior, but it is an option with the Macan if you choose to upgrade. The power-adjustable seats are comfortable and provide an engaged driving position. Optional leather door paneling and leather dashboard are available. The Macan beats most Porsche models in cargo space with a larger rear cargo compartment and smaller cubbies. The rear seats fold down, allowing 16 suitcases to fit behind the front seats.
Safety Features
The 2022 Porsche Macan features the latest in driver assistance and safety technology. While the Macan has yet to receive its crash test ratings, auto industry experts anticipate similar ratings as the 2021 Macan from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Additional safety features include automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.
