The Murano comes in four trim levels with additional packages available to add extra features. The base-level S trim comes with 18-inch alloy wheels and rear privacy glass. It also has automatic headlights and LED running lights. Move up to the SV trim for roof rails and fog lights, and for a better view, add the Premium Package for a panoramic sunroof. The SL trim adds heated side mirrors, a power liftgate, and additional safety features.

Choose the top-level Platinum trim for 20-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights. You can add the Technology Package to the Platinum trim for a panoramic sunroof and additional safety systems.
Engine
The Murano provides a powerful yet smooth drive. All models come with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque. Nissan pairs this with a CVT, and front-wheel drive is standard, but you can opt for all-wheel drive.
Performance
The hard-working V6 engine gets the Murano up to 60 miles per hour in just 7.5 seconds, and it provides the right amount of power to take command of any highway. Both the front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models will get 24 mpg** combined, with 21 mpg** in the city and 28 mpg** on the highway.

This added fuel efficiency is because the all-wheel-drive system sends most of its power to the front wheels until it senses a slip, and then it uses all four wheels. The Murano also handles well both on the highway and on backroads with a suspension that sails over big dips in the road for maximum passenger comfort.
Interior
The high-level trims offer the materials and features that you would find in luxury vehicles for a higher-end car feel. The SL and Platinum models have interior ambient lighting and an auto-dimming rearview camera. The base model comes with a 7-inch touch-screen display with satellite radio and both USB and auxiliary jacks. Add the Navigation package for an 8-inch screen, a navigation system, and voice recognition. The higher trims feature a Bose audio system and heated front seats. In the Platinum trim at the top of the line, you'll get heated outboard rear seats with a power folding feature.
Safety
The 2017 Nissan Murano has been awarded a 5 Star rating from the NHTSA, and for plethora of good reasons. All models come with front airbags, front side airbags, and roof-mounted side curtain airbags. Choose the SV and add the Driver Assistance Package for blind-spot monitors and a rear cross-traffic alert system.

The SL and Platinum models have the option for forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control as part of the Technology package. The SL model and above also come with a 360-degree camera for parking, along with the new warning system that alerts the driver when he or she appears to get drowsy.
