Trim Levels
Kia offers the Stinger in two different models and five different trim levels so you can get either the base Stinger or the Stinger GT. Both have the Sportback body style with a large hatchback. The Base trim starts things off with the basics, but a step up to the Premium will get you a moonroof and upgrades in the cabin. Kia breaks the GT model up into the GT, GT1 and the GT2 with extra convenience and safety features added to each level.
Engine
The base engine for the Stinger is a 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder that generates an impressive 255 horsepower. You can also opt for the optional 3.3-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine that comes standard in all the GT models. This delivers 365 horsepower, and Kia pairs both engines with an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can get either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive no matter which model you choose.
Performance
The Stinger GT has a top speed of 167 miles per hour, getting you from zero to 60 miles per hour in just five seconds. The Stinger is also the first Kia to have the all-new Dynamic Stability Damping Control system. This is electronically adjustable and allows you to soften or firm up the suspension while you are on the go. This performance sedan also has five different drive modes to choose from including Eco, Comfort, Personal, Smart, and Sport, so you can get the driving experience you want.
Interior
The Stinger's cabin has room for up to five passengers, with space for everyone to spread out. Genuine leather seats come standard, with the option to upgrade to premium Nappa leather in the GT trims. Heated front seats also come standard, and the driver's seat adjusts 12 different ways with the addition of four different lumbar adjustments. In the back, the trunk has over 23 cubic feet of cargo space, and when you fold the rear seats down, it opens up to over 40 cubic feet. The GT models add a flat-bottomed steering wheel. For technology, a 7-inch touch screen with Kia's UVO3 infotainment system comes standard along with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and satellite radio. The Premium trim adds a 7-inch digital display for the instrument panel and a larger 8-inch touch screen display.
Safety Features
All Stinger models come standard with a rearview camera and both front and rear parking sensors. You can add a forward collision warning system with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking to any trim along with other safety systems. These include lane departure warning with lane keep assist, a driver drowsiness warning system, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alerts, and adaptive cruise control complete with a stop-and-go function are also available options. Upgrade to the GT2 for a head-up display and auto dimming side mirrors.
