2019 Kia Forte
The Kia Forte is a popular compact sedan, and for 2019, it has a new modern look. Kia redesigned the Forte giving it the fastback design of the Stinger. It is also longer than previous years, it has an upgraded cabin with a sleek minimalistic dashboard, and it has new more fuel-efficient engine options. Here are some more details about the 2019 Kia Forte.

Compare to 2018 Forte
Trim Levels
To start the year, the Forte comes in four different trim levels. The base FE has 15-inch steel wheels, while a step up to the LXS gets you 16-inch alloy wheels and some upgraded exterior accents. The S offers the option for a power moonroof, along with LED headlights and automatic high beams. The top-level EX adds LED turn signals in the side mirrors and some extra technology in the cabin.
Engine
All Forte models get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. The base FE comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission, and Kia offers the option for their very first CVT. This CVT comes standard on the rest of the models and features a design that simulates the sound and the feel of an automatic transmission. It even has a sport mode that allows the driver to shift up and down through the simulated gears.
Performance
The Forte offers a smooth and soft ride, and the higher-end trims have acoustic glass that helps keep it quiet in the cabin. A firm steering system provides more feedback than the previous model year, and the smart design for the CVT offers an engaging ride. The new engine in the Forte is more fuel efficient than ever, and Kia expects it to have an EPA fuel-efficiency rating of up to 35 miles per gallon combined.
Interior
The Forte's new exterior design results in some extra room in the cabin. The front seats are comfortable with plenty of head and legroom, and both seats offer height adjustments. Choose the top-level EX and you'll also get a 10-way power adjustable driver seat, and both front seats are heated and cooled. The EX also adds a glove box light and other convenience features. For technology, an 8-inch touch-screen display now comes standard, and the infotainment system works with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Add the Launch Edition package to the EX for a Harmon Kardon stereo, wireless charging, and voice command navigation.
Safety Features
The new Forte comes standard with automatic forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and active lane control. The high-end EX comes with blind spot collision warning and offers the option for lane change assist. This system will warn you if vehicles are coming up from behind you when you start switching lanes. A rear cross-traffic collision warning system is also available, along with lane keeping assist. For help with parking in tight spaces, the Forte also offers the option for a parking distance warning-reverse system. This will warn you with an audible sound when it detects an object behind you.
