Dodge offers the 2017 Charger in a full eight trim levels: SE, SXT, R/T, Daytona, R/T Scat Pack, Daytona 392, SRT 392, and SRT Hellcat. Even at the low end, you can expect things like a powerful 3.6-liter engine, LED tail lights, an 8.4-inch touchscreen for the audio system, and an infotainment system that works with voice commands and Bluetooth streaming audio. The high end offers more drive modes, bigger engines, Brembo brakes, and an exhaust system that really lets the engine growl.

Engine (Power)

A 2017 Dodge Charger can run on one of four engines. The list starts with a 3.6-liter V6 that offers 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The first upgrade is a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 that can manage 370 horsepower and 395 pound-feet, followed by an even bigger 6.4-liter HEMI V8 that gets 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet. The last and most potent option is the 6.2-liter HEMI SRT Hellcat engine, available only in the trim that bears the same name. Thanks to a supercharger and all the latest technology, the Hellcat produces an incredible 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, which is why the Charger Hellcat comes with a special 200-mph speedometer.

Performance

While the more expensive trims offer more luxury features, the 2017 Charger mostly gets more power and performance when you spend more money. Aside from the four engines, some of the available performance features include a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters and a sport mode, all-wheel drive, and Bilstein adaptive damping suspension, which lets you switch on the fly between Sport and Track modes. Even the brakes can keep themselves dry by applying a light pressure when you turn your windshield wipers on.
Interior

The 2017 Dodge Charger isn't your father's muscle car. The interior is full of available high-tech features like an 8.4-inch touchscreen complete with the latest version of Uconnect. Turning the engine on or off is as easy as pressing a button, and a seven-inch digital display in the gauge cluster lets you customize the information it displays. With the right trim, you can get heated front and rear seats along with ventilation for the front row and dual-zone automatic temperature control with a humidity sensor.

Safety Features

The 2017 Charger provides drivers with the safety of seven air bags, an available ParkView rear back-up camera, and other available safety features like ParkSense sensors that will let you know if you're getting too close to another car as you park. The LaneSense Lane Departure Alert with Lane Keep Assist watches the lines on the road and can both alert you if you're straying too close and even gently steer you back into the center of your lane if you don't respond.
