It has a price tag of $53,235.</p><p>For the 2017 Explorer, the exterior looks ready for action with its rugged lines and a slightly boxy silhouette. The base Explorer comes with LED tail lamps, 18-inch wheels, and privacy glass. As you move up the line, you'll find more exterior flourishes such as LED signature lighting on the XLT and fascia-integrated, dual-tip exhaust on the sport trim.</p>
Engine (Power)
On the base Explorer and XLT, the engine is a 3.5-liter V6 with a six-speed automatic transmission. This engine creates 290 horsepower with 255 pound-feet of torque. With the Limited, you get a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder Eco-Boost engine that churns out 280 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. Performance
To achieve peak fuel economy, opt for the Limited trim. Its 2.3-liter engine gets up to 27 miles per gallon when traveling on the open road. With the 3.5-liter V6 on the base and XLT, you can rack up 24 mpg on the highway.
Interior
<p>For entertainment, the 2017 Ford Explorer comes with Sync 3, which can provide audio content as well as navigation assistance. Seating in this SUV is comfortable, supportive, and spacious - a real perk for extended road trips.
