Trim Levels (Exterior)

There are three different configurations available: a two-door with a regular cab; a four-door with an extended cab, which Ford refers to as SuperCab; and a four-door with a crew cab. The configurations are each available in five trim levels as well. These are XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum. The base model comes standard with 17-inch steel wheels, sleek black door handles, bumpers, a grille, and a locking tailgate. The XLT has larger 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome bumpers and grille, heated side mirrors with integrated blind-spot mirrors, and rear privacy glass.

The exterior of the midlevel Lariat has fog lights, automatic headlights, a defrosting and power-sliding rear window, power-folding and telescoping side mirrors, and handles that match the paint color. On the King Ranch, you'll find special exterior design elements, while the Platinum model has 20-inch, polished alloy wheels and a tailgate assist step.

Engine (Power)
The engine options in the 2017 Ford Super Duty trucks haven't changed from the previous model year. The base option is a gas-powered, 6.2-liter V8 that puts out 405 pound-feet of torque and 385 horsepower. You can also upgrade to the V8 diesel option, a 6.7-liter beast that produces an astounding 860 pound-feet of torque and 440 horsepower. Both engines pair with a six-speed automatic transmission that provides power to either the rear wheels or all four wheels if you upgrade to a four-wheel drive.
Performance
One of the main selling points for truck buyers is how much a vehicle can haul and tow. The 2017 official tow ratings haven't come out yet, but the diesel-powered engine in the 2017 model is more rugged than the previous version. Therefore, you should be able to tow at least 16,000 pounds with a gooseneck or fifth-wheel trailer, or 14,000 pounds. The gas-powered engine will be able to tow as much as 15,900 pounds.
Interior

Within the base model, you'll see the vinyl upholstery and floor coverings, making it a good choice for a work truck. The XLT adds cloth upholstery with carpeting on the floor, a locking storage container with a 12-volt power outlet, an integrated controller for the trailer brake, Ford Sync system for voice commands, and a four-speaker sound system with satellite radio, USB/iPod interface, and auxiliary jack. In the middle trim level, you get a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, improved functionality with the Sync system, and an 8-inch, touch-screen display.

The King Ranch edition comes with heated and ventilated front bucket seats, Sony audio system, and navigation. Finally, the Platinum trim has it all, including a heated steering wheel and upgraded leather upholstery.

Safety Features
A 360-degree surround view uses seven cameras to improve visibility and ensure safety when driving and especially when towing. You can also add safety features such as adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning, lane departure warning, and forward collision warning with mitigation.
