2018 Jaguar F-TYPE
The F-TYPE is Jaguar's racing spirit unleashed. The engines are immensely overpowered, the handling is exquisite, and the interior shows how much love and effort Jaguar engineers put into every square inch. With coupe and convertible options and an MSRP range in which the top trim is worth double the bottom option, you can get the car of your dreams when you buy a 2018 F-TYPE.
Trim Levels
The 2018 Jaguar F-TYPE has ten trims between its coupe and convertible body types. The coupe options are the F-TYPE Coupe, R-Dynamic Coupe, 400 Sport Coupe, R Coupe, and SVR Coupe, and the convertible models come with the same five trims. On a base-model coupe, you can expect features such as full-LED headlights, the Touch Pro infotainment system, and a Meridian sound system. The 400 Sport trims come with a powerful engine and unique black brake calipers with yellow highlights, and the SVR trims fine-tune the aerodynamics and lighten the vehicle with titanium, aluminum, and carbon-fiber parts.
Engine
The engine list of the 2018 F-TYPE starts with a light and potent 2.0-liter I-4 that uses turbo power to get 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Next is a supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 that offers 340 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque with either a manual or automatic transmission. The third engine is the same size, but an advanced design gives it 380 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque, plus it has available all-wheel drive. The 400 Sport has another supercharged 3.0-liter engine, but this one manages 400 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque. The R trims switch to a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 with 550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque, and the SVR brings those numbers up to 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
With the biggest and most powerful engine, the 2018 Jaguar F-TYPE can go from 0 to 60 in just 3.5 seconds, and its maximum speed is an impressive 200 mph. With this engine comes an advanced eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive, and you can get both features on even the starting trim, depending on which engine you choose. Other performance features are available with the right model, including carbon-ceramic brakes and the Electronic Active Differential.
Interior
The 2018 F-TYPE might be a two-seater sports car, but it doesn't neglect the interior. Standard features include an 8-inch touchscreen, a 12-speaker audio system by Meridian, and combination suede-leather upholstery. The trim and seat designs are fully customizable, and the trunk is surprisingly spacious for a sports car with room for up to 14 cubic feet in the coupe. You can also upgrade the coupe with a panoramic sunroof.
Safety Features
Safety is important in a sports car, which is why the 2018 Jaguar F-TYPE comes standard with a full set of airbags, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, and automatic emergency braking. Depending on the trim you can also expect other driver assistance features such as a parallel parking assist, a driver monitoring system, and traffic sign recognition.
