2018 Lincoln Continental
Ford companies have been producing a Continental since the 1930s. Most-recently reintroduced in 2017, the new Continental combines the comfort and composure of a classic luxury sedan with the technology and upgraded performance you expect from a new vehicle. If you want the best Lincoln has to offer, look no further than the 2018 Continental.
Trim Levels
The 2018 Lincoln Continental comes in four trim levels. The list starts with the Premier, which offers standard features like real wood trim, a dual-zone automatic climate control system with an air filter and extra vents in the rear, and active noise cancellation. The Select comes next and offers a few upgrades like larger wheels, a hands-free trunk lid, and a 110-volt power outlet. The Reserve is the third trim, and it has a turbocharged engine, a tri-zone climate system, and standard 24-way adjustable front seats. Last is the exclusive Black Label, a model that offers unique 20-inch wheels, rain-sensing wipers, and a 19-speaker audio system by Revel Ultima.
Engine
The 2018 Continental has one of three engines, depending on the trim and the packages you get. The base engine is a potent 3.7-liter V-6 that provides up to 305 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, and it comes with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Optional on the Select and standard on the Reserve is a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V-6, and this powerhouse gets 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. Last is the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 that's available on the Reserve and Black Label, and this engine offers 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Also, AWD is standard.
Performance
Turbo engines and all-wheel drive are both available on the Select and up, making the higher trims worth considering if you want the best performance the 2018 Lincoln Continental can muster. Combined with the exceptionally comfortable suspension design, the Continental is the kind of vehicle you can take out for a long cruise along winding country roads without having to worry about when the last road crew was around to pave the streets.
Interior
The interior is definitely one of the best aspects of the 2018 Continental. The vehicle offers perks like a trunk with 16.7 cubic feet to spare, a decent size for a full-size sedan, and on the Select and higher you get a hands-free trunk you can open by waving your foot under the back bumper. Both rows have plenty of space to stretch out, and while the front row starts out with heated 10-way adjustable seats, the Reserve has available 30-way seats.
Safety Features
The basic safety features begin with seven air bags, a rearview camera, the Personal Safety System, and the Reverse Sensing System. Depending on the trim level you can also get advanced driver assistance features like the Blind Spot Information System, Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-and-go, Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection and Active Braking, and Enhanced Active Drive Assist, a feature that helps you find a parallel parking spot and backs you in without bumping the curb or other cars.
