2018 Lincoln MKX
The Lincoln MKX is a five-passenger luxury crossover SUV with an athletic feel and upscale interior. For 2018, there are just a few minor changes including new paint colors and the Lincoln Way app. This app comes with Lincoln Connect is now standard on all the models. Trim Levels
The MKX comes in four different trim levels starting with the Premiere. This trim has 18-inch wheels, HID headlights, and remote start. The Select model adds a hands-free power liftgate, LED daytime running lights, and power-folding mirrors. You can also add the Climate package for automatic windshield wipers. The Reserve comes with 20-inch alloy wheels and adds a panoramic sunroof, while a bump up to the Black Label will get you unique interior accents, Black Label 20-inch wheels, and LED headlights. Engine
The base engine for the MKX is a 3.7-liter V-6 that produces 303 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. For those who want more power, a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V-6 is also available, which will produce 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. Both of these engines come with a six-speed automatic transmission and front wheel drive, and Lincoln offers all-wheel drive as an option for any of the trims.
Performance
The MKX is fuel efficient, but the surprise is the more powerful engine is also more efficient. The 3.7-liter will achieve 18 miles per gallon in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, while the base engine earns an estimated 16 miles per gallon in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. The adaptive suspension combined with the long wheelbase gives the MKX its athletic feel, and you can even choose between several drive modes to adjust the steering the way you like.
Interior
The cabin of this luxury SUV is sleek and comfortable with leatherette seats in the lower trims and premium leather in the higher trims. The top-level trims also offer extras such as heated rear seats, massaging front seats, and a heated steering wheel. For technology, an 8-inch touch screen comes standard along with the Sync 3 infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Bluetooth also comes standard in all trims. In the back, there are 37.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, which opens up to almost 69 cubic feet when you fold the seats down.
Safety Features
All MKX trim levels come standard with a rearview camera, and a step up to the Reserve trim and higher adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Both the Reserve and the Black Label trims offer the option for additional safety features including a 360-degree surround view camera, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic parallel parking. You can also add the Driver Assistance package for forward collision warning with mitigation, a lane keep assist system, adaptive cruise control, and adaptive steering.
