Trim Levels
The 2018 Nissan Murano has four trim levels. First is the S trim, which comes standard with dual-zone automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a navigation system. Next is the SV, which adds an 8-inch touch screen, a remote engine start, and Intelligent Climate Control. The SL offers an audio system with 11 Bose speakers, leather seats, and an Around View Monitor. Finally, the Platinum trim gets a dual-pane panoramic moonroof, climate-controlled seats, 20-inch wheels, and LED headlights.
Engine
The engine in every 2018 Murano is a 3.5-liter V-6 that generates up to 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque. With it comes the Xtronic CVT, an advanced transmission that uses Nissan's unique technology to deliver smooth acceleration and fuel efficiency without the whine you get from earlier continuously variable transmissions. That means the Murano has 21 city and 28 highway mpg, good numbers for a midsize crossover. And as a crossover, the Murano also has Intuitive All-Wheel Drive available for all models.
Performance
The 2018 Nissan Murano is a family vehicle, which is why it has a comfortable suspension that smooths out the road on trips both long and short. But the Murano's aggressive appearance isn't all just for show: those bold lines give the crossover a low drag coefficient for better acceleration and high-speed efficiency, and its sturdy frame can tow a 1,500-pound trailer when you install the right equipment. The Murano also gets good traction if you get a version with AWD since that system can move engine torque between axles to give you the best grip possible.
Interior
The 2018 Murano comes with 32.1 cubic feet behind the rear seats and up to 69.9 cubic feet behind the front, and both those numbers are good for its class. But the Murano doesn't ignore the passengers. Depending on the trim, you can get standard and available features like a hands-free Bluetooth phone system, a navigation system with voice recognition, USB ports for both rows, reclining rear seats, a fold-down center armrest, and an eight-way adjustable driver's seat.
Safety Features
The 2018 Nissan Murano comes with standard safety features like seven air bags and the Active Brake Limited Slip system, and with the 2018 model, you also get the Predictive Forward Collision Warning with Forward Emergency Braking on every trim. Higher trim levels get even more features, like a Rear Cross-Traffic Alert with a Blind Spot Warning, the Around View Monitor, and the Driver Attention Alert.
