2018 Nissan Pathfinder
The Nissan Pathfinder is a roomy an versatile SUV. What started out as strictly an off-road vehicle has turned into a capable family vehicle that will take you both on the road and off. For 2018, Nissan just made some minor changes. These include adding automatic emergency braking to all the trims and adding the Midnight Edition package with several appearance features added to additional trims. Here are some more details about the 2018 Nissan Pathfinder.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
This SUV comes in three different trim levels. The base level S has 18-inch alloy wheels and roof rails along with keyless ignition and entry. A step up to the SV trim will get you automatic headlights and fog lights. You can add the Tech package to this trim for a trailer hitch along with some additional technology. The SL trim adds some of the optional features from the SV along with a power liftgate and upgrades in the cabin, or you can get the Midnight Edition Package which adds blacked out 20-inch wheels, black side mirrors, and black roof rails. The top-level Platinum trim adds 20-inch wheels, LED headlights, and all the features of the optional packages on the lower trims.
Engine
The base engine is a 3.5-liter V-6 that produces 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. Nissan pairs this with a continuously variable transmission and front wheel drive, with four-wheel drive offered as an option. The four-wheel-drive system comes with hill-descent control and a locking function for the wheels to provide extra traction.
Performance
The combination of V-6 and CVT produces a fuel-efficient ride that will get you 19 miles per gallon in the city and 26 mpg on the highway with all-wheel-drive, and 20 miles per gallon in the city and 27 mpg on the highway with front-wheel-drive. For the 2018 model, Nissan sharpened up the steering and tweaked the suspension to give the Pathfinder a better ride and make it more controlled when heading around corners.
Interior
The Pathfinder's cabin is spacious and refined with high-quality materials and soft-touch surfaces. The seats are extremely comfortable, and there is an abundance of room in the second row, while the third row is a good size for smaller adults or children. The second-row seat slides forward for easy access to the third row, and it also reclines for extra comfort. The base model comes standard with an 8-inch touch screen display, HD and satellite radio, and two USB inputs for media and two more charge-only USB ports. Upgrade to one of the higher trims for leather upholstery, heated second-row seats, and in the Platinum, a rear-seat entertainment system.
Safety Features
All the models come standard with a rearview camera and a forward collision warning system with automatic emergency braking system. Upgrade to the SV with the All Weather Package for blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control, or the SL for a 360-degree top down parking camera. A moving object detection system is also available on the higher trims.

Compare to 2017 Pathfinder
