2018 Volkswagen Jetta
If you're looking for a versatile sedan that's perfect for commuting to work, going on weekend trips, or carrying out your daily errands, look no further than the 2018 Volkswagen Jetta. In 2018, Volkswagen is updating the features in a number of its trims as well as introducing a brand new trim called the Wolfsburg.
Trim Levels
The new Wolfsburg trim falls between the base S trim and the mid-level SE trim. It includes 16-inch Linas alloy wheels, sport bumpers, and fog lights to increase your visibility when things get murky. As for the S trim, you'll enjoy LED license plate lighting and daytime running lights, along with 16-inch Atlanta alloy wheels. The luxurious SE adds a power sunroof, heated power side mirrors, and 16-inch Sedona Black alloy wheels. The next step up, the SE Sport, is a flashier version of the SE. It comes with a black-painted rear spoiler and black window trim for an enhanced appearance, along with 17-inch black alloy wheels. The SEL is even more sophisticated, with a rear spoiler, rain-sensing windshield wipers, halogen front fog lights, and 17-inch Lancaster alloy wheels. Finally, the top-of-the-line GLI trim comes with sport bumpers, LED taillights, and 18-inch Bathurst alloy wheels.
Engine
There are three engine choices on the 2018 Jetta. The S, Wolfsburg, and SE come with a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that puts out 150 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. For a little more power, opt for the 1.8-liter turbocharged engine on the SE Sport and SEL, which provides 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Finally, the top engine choice is a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that offers 210 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque and is only available on the GLI.
Performance
Each trim comes with your choice of either a manual or automatic six-speed transmission except the Sport and SEL, which are only available with the automatic transmission. Even with the various drivetrain options, the estimated fuel economies are similar on all trims. The S, Wolfsburg, and SE all come with an estimated 28 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway. The SE Sport, SEL, and GLI all feature an estimated 24 mpg city and 33 mpg highway.
Interior
Even the base trims come loaded with features that will make your driving experience more pleasurable. A multi-function trip computer is standard, as well as Bluetooth, a rearview camera system, and 5-inch touch-screen sound system. Upgrade to the SE trim, and you'll get a leather-wrapped steering wheel, hand brake, shift knob controls, and leatherette upholstery. The higher trims also offer keyless access, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and much more.
Safety Features
The 2018 Jetta earned a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Lower trims include basic features such as electronic stability control, engine brake assist, anti-slip regulation, and electronic differential lock. However, you'll need to upgrade to higher trims to get adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, parking sensors, and other active features.

Compare to 2017 Jetta
