2021 Chrysler Pacifica
Named the second-best minivan by U.S. News and World Report, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica features an abundance of technology and comfort features. For the 2021 model year, Chrysler refreshed the three-row minivan's exterior and interior styling, including an updated infotainment system and more standard driver aids. Its spacious and comfortable interior, an impressive list of standard safety features, and its optional all-wheel-drive system make it a vehicle worth considering.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica comes in four trims: Touring, Touring L, Limited, and Pinnacle. The top-of-the-line Pinnacle trim is new for 2021. The exterior styling has more of a soft edge, with a new grille and designs for alloy wheels. The base Touring comes with 17-inch wheels, the Limited has 18-inch wheels, and the Pinnacle boasts 20-inch wheels. A power liftgate comes standard on all trims, and you can upgrade to receive hands-free power-sliding rear doors and a panoramic sunroof.
Engine (Power)
Powering all 2021 Pacifica trims is a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that produces 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. It's paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. You can opt for all-wheel drive with any of the trims.
Performance
For fuel economy, the 2021 Pacifica gets an estimated 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. When properly equipped, the minivan can tow up to 3,600 pounds. This number is high compared to many others in its class.
Interior
This family-friendly vehicle can seat up to eight people if you have the second-row bench seat; otherwise, it can fit seven people with second-row bucket seats. Standard features found in the Pacifica include cloth upholstery and an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat. Numerous upgrades are available, some of which include leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, an eight-way power-adjustable passenger's seat, and heated second-row seats.
The Uconnect 5 infotainment system remains one of the most straightforward systems on the market. It comes standard with a 10.1-inch touch-screen display, satellite and HD radio, a USB port, and Bluetooth. You also gain Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Available upgrades include a 12.3-inch touch-screen display, additional USB ports, navigation, a 10.1-inch dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and wireless device charging. Another option is a Fancam, which is a camera that displays the rear seats through the infotainment display.
This minivan's cargo area offers 32.3 cubic feet of space behind the third row and 87.5 cubic feet of space behind the second row. Folding down both these rows increases that number to 140.5 cubic feet. The Pacifica's Stow 'n Go seats allow you to conveniently stow them in the floor for more space, rather than physically removing them as with some other minivans.
Safety Features
The 2021 Pacifica doesn't skimp when it comes to standard safety features as it comes with almost a dozen. Some of these features include automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and forward-collision warning. Available options include front parking sensors, a surround-view parking camera system, and parallel and perpendicular park assist.
