2021 Chrysler Voyager
Launched as a brand-new vehicle for 2020, the Chrysler Voyager is nearly identical to the two lower-trims found in the Pacifica from previous years. The 2021 Voyager remains relatively untouched except for a few additional advanced safety features. Now that the Dodge Caravan is no longer in production, the Voyager is the least expensive new minivan produced by the Fiat Chrysler corporation. The Voyager remains a solid choice for families looking for a budget-friendly vehicle that also provides style, practicality, and space.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
There are two trims available with the 2021 Chrysler Voyager: L and LX. There is also a LXi trim, which is reserved for fleet customers. Its exterior styling mimics the Pacifica, although the Voyager lacks power-sliding doors. The Voyager comes standard with 17-inch steel wheels, but the LX trim includes 17-inch alloy ones. A roof rack is optional.
Engine (Power)
Regardless of either trim you have, all Voyagers come with the same engine. The 3.6-liter V-6 engine produces 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, giving you plenty of thrust for merging onto highways and maneuvering through traffic. The only transmission option you have is a nine-speed automatic one. The vehicle also comes standard with front-wheel drive.
Performance
The Voyager attains decent gas mileage, with an EPA-estimated 19 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. To help you save fuel while idling, the minivan's engine has an automatic stop-and-start function. When properly equipped, the minivan can tow up to 3,600 pounds.
Interior
Seating seven people comfortably, the 2021 Voyager comes standard with cloth upholstery and second-row bench seats. Available upgrades include an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats and steering wheel, and bucket seats for the second row. The minivan has a solid amount of space behind its third row with 32.3 cubic feet of space. Behind the second row, you get 87.5 cubic feet of space, while that number increases to 140.5 cubic feet of space behind the first row. The third row also features Stow 'n Go seating, which allows you to fold the seats into the floor and not physically remove them from the vehicle. To keep everyone connected, the Voyager comes with the Uconnect 4 interface paired with a 7-inch responsive touch-screen display. You also gain access to Bluetooth, a USB port, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. You can select satellite radio and a rear-seat overhead DVD player with a single overhead screen.
Safety Features
The 2021 Voyager comes standard with a rearview camera and numerous upgrades available, many of which were added for this year. Among these features found in the SafetyTec Group include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and pedestrian detection.
Because of these impressive safety features, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the Voyager a perfect five-star overall safety rating, as well as five stars for the frontal and side crash tests. Also, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the minivan its highest rating in many of its crash tests.
