2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
The luxurious Mercedes C-Class received a complete makeover for the 2022 model year. It has updates inside and out, including a more efficient four-cylinder turbo engine. On the outside, it's more aggressive-looking, and inside, it has new technology. Also new for 2022, Mercedes will offer the C-Class in three specific trim levels. Take a look.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level C-Class trim is the Premium. It has 18-inch wheels, LED taillights and headlights, a hands-free electronic trunk closer, a sunroof, and keyless entry. Stepping up to the Exclusive trim adds to all this with illuminated door sills and the option for a panoramic roof. The top trim is the Pinnacle. It has all the exterior features you get with the Exclusive trim and the panoramic sunroof.
Engine (Power)
The base engine for the C-Class is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine that puts out 255 horsepower and gets 295 pound-feet of torque. The 2022 models also add Mercedes' 48-volt electric starter. It doubles as a generator for the EQ Boost system, which can add an extra 20 horsepower and another 148 pound-feet of torque. The entire setup works with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
The new engine under the C-Class hood is more efficient than the previous model and it's more powerful. It will accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 5.9 seconds and has a top speed of 130 miles per hour. Rear-wheel drive comes standard, but you can opt for all-wheel drive with any of the trim levels.
Interior
Inside the C-Class, passengers will enjoy luxury, comfort, and convenience. The seats have a unique design that gives them a lighter look and feel, and you can opt for MB-Tex material for the dashboard. Heated front seats come standard with ambient interior lighting added to the Exclusive. All three trims offer the option for ventilated seats and a heated steering wheel.
The 2022 C-Class comes loaded with tech features, including a 12.3-inch driver information display and an 11.9-inch center touch screen that sits angled toward the driver. It runs the new MBUX infotainment system with a Biometric fingerprint scanner, and every trim has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An advanced USB Package with extra USB ports for the front and rear-seat passengers is optional, and you can also add satellite radio. The Exclusive comes with a Burmester 3D surround sound stereo system and inductive wireless charging, and the Pinnacle adds MB Navigation and the MBUX augmented video for the navigation system.
Safety Features
Every C-Class has advanced driver aids to keep everyone safe. Standard safety systems include blind-spot assist, active braking assist, and parking damage detection. It also comes standard with a forward-collision warning system and automatic braking. The Exclusive adds the Mercedes-Benz Parktronic system with active parking assist and a surround-view parking system that provides a 360-degree top-down view around the vehicle. The Driver Assistance Package is optional for the Exclusive and Pinnacle trims. It adds adaptive cruise control that uses the car's navigation system to adjust speed for upcoming corners.
