Word of mouth has transformed in the digital age. Although many of us ask around for referrals to dentists, doctors and marriage counselors, there are vast numbers of personal experiences written on the Internet for everyone to see in perpetuity. Yelp, Google Plus, Foursquare—people go online to leave reviews of businesses they frequent, and car dealers such as we are not exempted.

Take DealerRater, for example, a popular website focusing on auto retailers that continually updates its rating based on the previous 24 months of reviews. Anyone can post a review, and the auto dealers have no control over what gets posted. We pull up the page for Audi Raleigh and see that the most recent review listed is from August 4, and gives a five out of five rating. The employee highlighted in the review is Chris Sarbo, one of our brand specialists who happens to have great hair and a propensity for sharing links from Audi Raleigh’s page on Facebook.

The reviewer shares that he or she recently moved to the United States for a job, and brought along their family. This family has been in North Carolina for about one month, and has been researching cars and dealerships as they need transportation. In particular, this family was interested in leasing options, possibly because they did not intend to stay in NC forever, or at least wanted the flexibility of non-ownership. Leasing is becoming an increasingly attractive alternative for some people, so we can understand why this was a priority.

After conducting their research, the family concluded that Audi Raleigh was the most competitive in price and service. The family says that they evaluated multiple dealerships, and certainly in the Triangle there are lots of options. We are pleased to see Audi Raleigh win out in such a thorough process, and to see Chris Sarbo commended for his role representing his dealership. The reviewer writes,

“I highly recommend visiting Chris Sarbo who made the buying experience easy and relaxed. He was always extremely diligent in following up the status of the process, providing me with trustful and clear information so I was able to come back home very happy with my new A3.”
