Leith EV Ride + Drive

Thank you for attending our October event.

Leith is your destination for all things electric. As the largest complete automotive group in the Triangle with 26 dealerships, we have a wide range of EVs to choose from – new and used. The choice is yours.

Charging

Charging your Electric Vehicle is as simple as can be. You don’t even have to leave the comfort of your own home. Now that’s convenient, and easy on your wallet. Currently, there are two types of residential EV chargers on the market – the Level 1: Standard Wall Outlet (120 Volt) and the Level 2: 240-Volt Outlet (Dryer Plug). There is no installation required for the Level 1 Charger because it comes standard with every EV. When you purchase your EV, you’ll drive home with this charger and plug it into the wall. The Level 1 Charger offers up to 5 miles of range per hour, compared to an average of 25 miles of range per hour with the Level 2 Charger. With the Level 2 Charger, you will need to purchase it yourself and then have it installed by a qualified electrician.

Performance

Electric Vehicles are making their mark on the road and there’s no looking back. The future is here and is looking brighter than ever. For a smooth, quiet ride, EVs are the way to go. When driving an EV, you can achieve maximum torque right away. This instant torque makes them able to accelerate faster than gas-powered cars. Regenerative braking is another feature found in EVs that help boost its overall performance. With regenerative braking, the kinetic energy from braking is captured and is then transferred into the car’s batteries. This, in turn, regenerates your power and gives you more range.

Speaking of range, many EVs can go 200-300 miles on a single charge. Public charging stations are available all over and the number keeps growing. So don’t fear, you’re not going to run out of charge if that’s what you’re thinking. Locally in the Raleigh, N.C., area, there are 696 public charging stations with 122 of those being free stations and 141 of those being DC Fast Chargers.
