It's Easier Here.

Leith Cars Blog

If you’ve followed this blog for any time, you’ll know that we’re big fans of Top Gear. So when we saw the new trailer this morning, we were beyond excited.

In case you don’t know, Top Gear, the British television series, lost its three main hosts – Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May – back in 2015. The original three were more than just hosts of the show, though. They were the core of Top Gear.

When they left, the Top Gear producers knew they had big shoes to fill. So naturally, they chose Chris Evans, a radio personality known for being fired by Virgin Radio for missing his show to have a drink at the pub in 2003, and then winning Sony’s Music Radio Personality of the Year in 2006.

Evans is a bit of a wild card, which is why everyone is anxious to see what the new Top Gear will be like with him at the helm. All we know is that the trailer looks pretty sweet.

Will it be better or worse than the old one? Who knows. Either way, we’ll have Top Gear back and a new show from Clarkson, Hammond, and May. In the end, the fans will win and that’s all that matters.

Speaking of their new show…

It’s coming in 2016. Probably late 2016, but considering we’re already more than a quarter of the way through the year, that’s not long at all. You’ll have to purchase Amazon Prime to watch the series, but you’ll be getting a long list of benefits with your purchase.

The trio have signed an Amazon Prime contract for 36 episodes, which equates to 3 seasons, with 12 episodes per season. Each episode will be roughly 60 minutes in length, and the budget for the television show is $182 million in total. That means there will be a little over $5 million to spend on each episode.

This leads us to believe that the new Amazon Prime series is going to be ludicrous – in the best way possible.

We’ll keep you posted as soon as we have more information on these two new shows! In the meantime, check out our top 5 favorite Top Gear episodes!
