We are in the throes of 2015 models arriving at our dealerships, and one model we especially appreciate is the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class. As the brand’s most popular class (besides the upper class, ha ha), most times you see a Mercedes-Benz on the road or parked somewhere, odds are that it’s a C-Class. That much visibility has spurred the automaker to give its flagship a revamp inside and out. This manifested itself in two ways: 1) Creating the CLA class so that it could become the entry-level model, and 2) Giving the C-Class the S-Class’s design language.
We’ve been lucky enough to already receive the 2015 C-Class at Mercedes-Benz of Cary, and Leith, Inc. Authorized Mercedes-Benz Sales and Service. Over the past couple of days, we’ve been checking out its finer points and will be getting some test drive reviews up on those respective dealerships’ blogs pretty soon. In the meantime, we thought that we would take a moment to encourage you to see the new C-Class for yourself.
The body of the C-Class is nice, essentially a mini-me version of the S-Class. Stately, poised, slightly Napoleanesque: these adjectives do more than describe our cat, Filbert. Mercedes-Benz doesn’t want to hear any sneering from auto bloggers about “compromised standards” or “frankly uninspiring,” so the level of detail that went into the C-Class’s body is exquisite. And honestly, that’s one of our favorite ways to characterize a body.
Another huge bump to the C-Class is its standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive. Despite possessing a name that makes us feel like we’re being shouted at, Mercedes-Benz’s all-wheel drive is a lot of fun because it allows you to drive faster without losing your grip on the road. Having imbibed a lot of movies in our lifetime like any red-blooded American, we’ve got this idea in our head that going fast is fun. Truth be told, it is.
With standard LED headlights, the new C-Class broadcasts to anyone in Raleigh or Cary that you’re travelling with style and grace, to borrow a phrase from Biggie Smalls. LEDs last longer and shine brighter than standard halogen bulbs, without bringing the blinding whiteness of xenon bulbs. They’re what all the cool cars are wearing these days, so they’re a quick way to communicate that your car is both modern and eco-friendly.
Stop by the aforementioned stores to test drive the 2015 C-Class, particularly if you live in any area towns like Apex, Morrisville, Wake Forest or Durham. We wouldn’t want y’all to feel like you’re not included.
