You know which brand we haven’t featured on the Thursday column yet? Buick. That’s right, Buick, the stately luxury brand of yesteryear that is still very much a big player today. Don’t believe us? Just take a look at our Showroom and Tell spotlight for this week, the 2014 Buick LaCrosse.

The LaCrosse has a stunning exterior thanks to flowing lines and generous applications of Galvano chrome finish. Our favorite character line has to be the one that runs along the side, coming off the trailing edge of the headlights in a long arc, then breaking and arcing again over the rear door handle before catching the wraparound LED taillights. The front end boasts a timeless waterfall grille, signature LED running lights, and available articulating HID headlamps. In total, the LaCrosse’s visage is confident and capable of challenging the younger nameplates in the premium class.

Underneath, this Buick has two engine options. There’s a standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder direct injection engine with eAssist Technology, which is good for 182 horsepower. If you want to make more of a statement, you can opt for the 3.6-liter V6 engine, which makes 304 horsepower and utilizes variable-valve timing for added efficiency. The V6 engine is only available on all-wheel drive models.

Style and world-class comfort are the name of the game once you sit down inside. Enjoy ice-blue ambient lighting, warm wood tones, and smoked-chrome accents along with high-end leather upholstery and an available oversized sunroof. The LaCrosse also features an 8-inch reconfigurable Driver Information and Cluster Display, and it comes equipped with next-gen Buick Intellilink Infotainment System. You’ll be able to take advantage of Pandora and satellite radio plus Bluetooth wireless technology.
