In Episode 4 of Leith Cars’ Zero to 60 TV, regular host Mark Arsen and Contributor Steve Ulin are joined by Audi Raleigh Brand Specialist, John Marble. Audi Raleigh, it should be noted, is part of the Leith auto group. Why they don’t have the Leith name could be the subject of another YouTube video that would be riveting, we are sure.

Our idea of riveting is much simpler: the Audi R8 Spyder. It’s a spyder because it’s a convertible and a 2017 model at that, which means it features the latest Audi technology: magnetic ride, virtual cockpit, and the like.

The R8, of course, is the Audi you tend to see most on Instagram and competitions on YouTube. It’s low and sleek with an engine that you don’t see too often these days: a V10. Even as automakers are coupling electric motors with V8s and V6s for awesome displays of power, the R8 pursues a purists love for naturally-aspirated horsepower—no turbos or hybrid technology added.

And you can blame them? When your design looks this good, you might feel like indulging in an old-school vision for the future.
