ShowRoomandTell

Showroom and Tell this week is brought to you by Leith BMW, and today’s car is the 2014 BMW 5-series.

2014 BMW 5-series

The first thing you should know about this car is that we list thirteen trim levels on our model research page. What this should tell you is that when you look at the 5-series, you have options. You can choose whether you want a hybrid, a diesel, or a gas engine. You can choose how big the engine will be. You can choose whether or not your car has xDrive, BMW’s all-wheel drive system, and you can also choose between Sedan and Gran Turismo body style.

Your choices don’t stop with the fundamentals, though. BMW is legendary for giving you plenty of options inside the vehicle, too. The front seats can be adjusted ten ways with four separate adjustments for lumbar support. The driver’s seat has a memory system for seat, steering wheel, and side mirrors. A three-spoked, sporty steering wheel is leather-bound and functional enough to manage audio, cruise control, and phone calls. BMW’s iDrive multimedia system is an effective and intuitive method of interfacing with navigation and other media. One of our favorite features is the option for a Head Up Display that will project your speed onto the windshield. It’s as much a safety feature as it is flat-out cool.

You even get to choose how the car drives. Toggle between three different attitudes, including Eco for extended fuel economy, Comfort for smooth sailing, and Sport for an agile and aggressive experience. For a better idea of how the BMW 5-series drives, we recommend our road test review.

This summary is only a taste of what the 2014 BMW 5-series has to offer. If you want to learn more about this vehicle, feel free to call or visit Leith BMW any day of the week.
